IA - THE MAGNIFICENT SUNSET

Why is Ia considered the most romantic place in Santorini? It could be the picturesque alleys that make you believe that you have gone back in time. It could also be the the amazing view, or perhaps the beautiful small shops and cafe.

The color of Ia is certainly different, and you will realize that the minute you see it. Cars are not allowed in Ia, you will get wherever you wish on foot.

Whatever you, do do not forget to visit Perivolas, perhaps the most characteristic area of Ia. Luxury hotels and houses built in harmony with the environment. White washed steps and balconies with a view you will never forget, especially during sunset.

Let your eyes absorb all the colors and magic of Ia and you will realize why it is considered the jewel of Santorini.

Take a walk in every alley and you will wish you never have to leave this place. You can either have a coffee in one of the many cafe or enjoy your lunch or dinner. Ia has many restaurants and fish taverns. Prices are varying from very expensive to average.

Amoudi is a small port right below Ia. There are two ways of getting there, either by car or bu the stone built steps (but then you will have to get back the same way, which is not that easy).

Amoudi is known for its fish taverns, one next to the other and all of them within less than 3 meters from the sea water. The place is ideal for a quiet diner with a lovely sea view and view of the fishing boats which provide the taverns with the fresh fish you will taste. No cars, no noise, not a hint of civilization...

And right above lies Ia, hanging from the cliffs.
